FILMMAKING & MEDIA PRODUCTION: UAL LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE

Our stimulating pre-degree programme is delivered by our team of academics, technical demonstrators and invited experts who together deliver excellence in teaching. You’ll learn in a dedicated pre-degree campus, surrounded by creative inspiration and likeminded young people, all of whom are preparing for success in higher education and industry.

<p>When you successfully complete this two-year course, you’ll gain a Level 3 Extended Diploma – equivalent to three full A-levels, or a maximum of 168 UCAS points.<br /></p> <p>This course will equip you to study on our <strong><a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-film-screen-arts">BA (Hons) Film &amp; Screen Arts</a>, <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-animation-games">BA (Hons) Animation &amp; Games</a>, or <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-graphic-design">BA (Hons) Graphic Design</a> </strong>programmes or to gain a place on degree-level courses at other colleges and universities. At Arts University Plymouth <strong>we </strong><strong>guarantee our Extended Diploma students a place on one of our <a href="https://www.plymouthart.ac.uk/courses?orderBy=lft&amp;studyLevel=33">BA (Hons) programmes</a></strong> if they achieve a Merit or higher in their final assessment and meet any additional entry criteria.<br /></p> <p><strong>Future careers include: </strong>filmmaker, director, producer, animator, scriptwriter, production designer, editor, or concept artist.</p>

Tom Bispham

<p dir="ltr">Tom Bispham graduated from BA (Hons) Digital Media Production (now part of BA (Hons) Film &amp; Screen Arts) at Arts University Plymouth in 2022 and has since worked with a range of brands, companies and influencers, including DJ Tom Zanetti, Glastonbury Festival, MISFITS Boxing, Northcore and UN Patron of the Oceans, Lewis Pugh.</p> <p dir="ltr">Specialising in creating short form content for social media, marketing and advertising, Tom’s career has gone from strength to strength very quickly since graduating. He credits part of his success to the five years that he spent studying at Arts University Plymouth, beginning with an A-Level equivalent Extended Diploma at the university’s Pre-Degree campus.<br /></p>

Jamie Pine

<p dir="ltr">Internet personality Jamie Pine studied an Extended Diploma in Filmmaking &amp; Media Production in 2011, going on to gain a substantial social media following with over 125,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 7 million views on his first channel alone. </p> <p dir="ltr">Now based in Canada, Jamie developed the notification app notify.me, which went semi-viral gaining 1m views and 30k retweets on Twitter (now X) and later founded Spacedrive, an open source, cross-platform file explorer, which reached number 1 trending worldwide on GitHub. <br /><br />Jamie regularly streams on Twitch, where he has over 17,000 followers, showcasing his application software development live to his audience.</p>
