Dauvit Alexander (or “The Justified Sinner” as he is known) is largely self-taught, working with found metals (predominantly iron and steel) to create jewellery, which crosses boundaries of style and technique.
His predominantly narrative and historic work uses the traditional techniques of fine jewellery alongside digital technologies to create complex, multi-layered pieces.
His work can be seen in many recent publications including Thames & Hudson and has exhibited in the US, Europe and the UK. He is the Vice-Chair of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery and lectures on a fine-jewellery course in Glasgow, specialising in digital manufacture.
Taking place in our Studio Theatre, come and meet the artist as he talks about his practice and the ethos behind his work on Wednesday 25 November, 5.30-6.30pm.
