Artist Rose Wylie has selected two films to be shown at the Plymouth Arts Centre cinema to accompany her multi-site exhibition History Painting. This cinematic double-bill draws out themes of war, culture and society that run through the exhibition.
Film is a strong focus throughout Rose's work, a selection of her 'Film Notes' collection are currently on show in both The Gallery at Plymouth College of Art and Plymouth Arts Centre gallery. She has selected La Silence de la Mer by Jean-Pierre Melville and Sack Barrow by Ben Rivers to be screened as part of the current exhibition, chosen for their "marvellous photography".
The screening will be preceded by an exhibition tour led by Ben Borthwick, Artistic Director and exhibition curator. The tour will start at 5.30pm, and the screening will follow at 6pm. Book your tickets here.
