The Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) is a leading international festival that takes place in York, UK and is seen as a hotbed for fresh ideas and talent discovery.
Run by Aesthetica Magazine, the festival spans five days in November, and will see over 400 films screened alongside 100 industry events, networking sessions, masterclasses, and panel discussions. ASFF is a key annual event for emerging and established filmmakers to meet alongside industry professionals, and each year the festival attracts thousands of entries.
Plymouth College of Art 2019 graduate Amy Magee’s film ‘I’m Okay’ will be showing as part of the festival. The BA (Hons) Digital Media Production alumni’s work is an experimental short film exploring mental health and our relationship with the earth through layered sounds and visuals, described as an immersive and complex rendering of filmic concepts.
This year’s festival will also include a Short Film Festival Industry Marketplace - the first of it’s kind in the UK, where staff and other students from Plymouth College of Art's BA (Hons) Film and Screen Arts and BA (Hons) Digital Media Production programmes will be representing the college.
The ASFF Industry Marketplace is the ideal place to connect with industry professionals and organisations such as production services, screen agencies, funders, exhibitors, film festivals, film schools and universities. This is a must-attend for filmmakers, industry guests and students looking to expand their industry contacts. The ASFF Industry Marketplace will take place on Friday 8 November from 11:30am - 8pm.
