Our Animation Studio is well equipped with 25 x PC Computer Workstations with 4K monitors, Dragonframe Animation Digital Compositing Software and the full Adobe Creative Suite.

Animation Studios

Our Animation Studio is well equipped with 25 x PC Computer Workstations with 4K monitors, Dragonframe Animation Digital Compositing Software and the full Adobe Creative Suite. Inspired by the stop motion set-ups used by Aardman Animations, the studio contains 4 x Stop Motion Animation Bays, 2 x Chroma Green Bays, and 2 x Chroma Blue Bays, all with 4 x Canon EOS 5DMKII's and various versatile Manfrotto clamps and arms to support, and a selection of armatures for model making.

Nearby the Equipment Resource Centre also houses a Cintiq Studio, home to several Wacom Cintiq 27QHD DK2700 workstations and PC's with Animation and Game Arts software, as well as CAD Optitex Software, a specialist groundbreaking software for solutions that include 2D design and 3D visualization platforms.

Students also make full use of our 3D Wood and Plastic Workshop to create scale sets and scenery, before articulating through stop-motion and digital software.

Game Art Studios

Our Game Arts Studio houses 40 x PC's with 22" display and Huion Kamvas Pro 22 Graphic Drawing Monitors. All computers are equipped with the full Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Software such as Maya and 3DS Max, Unreal Engine and Construct 2.

Nearby our second Game Arts Studio is equipped with 40 x Alienware Aurora R5’s, a revolution in gaming desktop design, each with an Nvidia GTX 1080 Graphic Card and 28" 4K monitors. Students have access to the Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Software such as Maya and 3DS Max, Substance Designer and Painter, Spriter Pro and Marmoset Toolbag.

This is a fantastic space in which to use traditional drawing skills in a digital space, our Huion screens allow quick and easy setup to suit the learners drawing style, as well as powerful hardware to make sure there are no limits to their creations. The pod-style layout of the room allows all learners to discuss ideas in a natural way.”
