<p dir="ltr">Plymouth College of Art presents Boris Karloff: The Many Faces of a Film Icon, an online symposium dedicated to one of the great stars of the classic era. Supported by keynote addresses from all-round horror expert Dr Alison Pierse (University of Leeds) and acclaimed biographer Stephen Jacobs (author of Boris Karloff: More Than a Monster), the day will draw together a range of approaches to Karloff and his work from academics and artists alike, as well as a dedicated website showcasing a selection of archival materials and artist response to Karloff.</p> <p dir="ltr"><a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/events/boris-karloff-the-many-faces-of-a-film-icon-an-online-symposium">1 April 2022 - 9.30am - 5.30pm @ online</a><br /></p>

<p dir="ltr">In the city’s first exhibition dedicated to fashion, highlights from The Box’s costume and textile collection will be displayed alongside paintings, drawings, film and archival material to tell important local and international stories about fashion and clothing. ‘Dress Code - Fashion Stories from The Box’ spans the 1700s to today and speaks to contemporary conversations about identity, sustainability, shopping, design, making and craft, and also features work from <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/study/pre-degree">Pre-Degree</a>, <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-fashion-media-marketing">BA (Hons) Fashion Communication</a> and <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-costume-production">BA (Hons) Costume Production</a> students at the college.</p> <p dir="ltr"><a href="https://www.theboxplymouth.com/events/exhibitions/dress-code" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">From 2 April 2022 - 10am - 5pm @ The Box</a><br /></p>

They are obsessively in control of all aspects of songwriting, music production, video directing and artwork creation, making for an almost immersive fan experience. Plymouth Arts Cinema plays host to a special 50th anniversary double bill of David Bowie's 'The Man Who Fell to Earth' and 'Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars'

<p dir="ltr">On 30 April 1972, David Bowie played Plymouth Guildhall in his incarnation as Ziggy Stardust.
