By Kat Peberdy
BA (Hons) Painting, Drawing & Printmaking Technical Demonstrator Oliver Teagle has recently been featured in Evolver Magazine following the success of his latest award-winning work.

Oliver’s piece ‘Jet’ is a mixture of oil and acrylic on laser engraved board, created using the in-house facilities of Fab Lab Plymouth.

First on display to the public at the Royal West of England Academy 165th Open Exhibition in Bristol, this is where Oliver was awarded the Evolver Wessex Artist Award by RWA President Stewart Geddes.

“This recognition has affirmed to me the importance of experimentation and having the confidence to continue taking risks within my practice"

The Bowie Gallery in Totnes also showed a collection of Oliver’s latest work for his solo exhibition ‘Un-Revealed’, a showcase of resin layered paintings, darkroom photogram prints and laser etched paintings.

Oliver said, “Over the last year I developed a process which combined laser etching and traditional painting techniques. The RWA Open was the first time these artworks had been exhibited so it was particularly rewarding to win the Wessex Artist Prize."
