Summer Works at Plymouth College of Art

Architect's visualisation of canteen space

From the latest industry equipment in our studios to exciting new builds, like our £8m investment in our dedicated crafts building and new campuses for our diploma students, we’re always looking at ways of improving and updating our studios, communal areas and facilities to provide the best experience for our students and staff.

These changes often take place over the Summer, when our students are off enjoying a well-deserved break, and this year is no different. We have lots going on, the results of which you’ll see in the new academic year, including a renovation of the college canteen and social area, as well as a new space for the Students’ Union.

Whilst that’s all happening, the front entrance of the college will be closed, but don’t worry you’ll still be able to access the campus via the back entrance on Regent Street (opposite Jakes).

We’ll also be creating more gender-neutral WC’s on campus and placing hearing loops in the newly refurbished areas to provide ease of access to all.

The front entrance will be closed from 29 June, during this time the pedestrian gates will be open from 2 July to allow access to the campus and reception will temporarily be located in the lift gallery. The ground floor male WCs will be closed from 25 June.

Please note, throughout the summer the college will be closed on Saturdays. We're open from Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm. We will reopen on Saturdays on 29 September - also the date of our first Open Day of the academic year.
