Carnival of the Imagination, a collective of artists living and working in South East Cornwall, present Lavish, a new art exhibition featuring work from BA (Hons) Textile Practices lecturer Becky Dodman.
Comprising of a selection of original and multi-disciplinary work, the Lavish exhibition includes works from artists specialising in painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, drawing and textiles.
Becky Dodman is a textile and knitwear designer whose work combines new technologies with traditional craft to produce thought-provoking knitwear and textile collections. She works across fashion and bespoke craft disciplines, engaging with each part of the make process to produce psychedelic energetic artworks. Her latest work includes a series titled Cats and Flowers, which will be available to purchase in print form at the show.
Becky will be joined by artists Georgia Munday (photograms), Marielle Newton (mixed media painting), Biddy Lloyd (drawing and painting), Beth Munroe (linocuts and etchings), Mark Gregory (metal, paint and pencil), Lizzy Lister (mixed media and oils), Miranda Qualtrough (ceramics), Claudia Hocking (pastels) and Sarah James (etchings).
Using a variety of materials, approaches and styles, all work on show is inspired by living in picturesque Cornwall.
Carnival of the Imagination celebrates the individuality of each artist and how they respond to the world around them. Work is figurative, abstract and semi-abstract, with a selection of 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional, textured, big and small pieces to suit every budget.
