Join filmmaker, BA (Hons) Film lecturer and published author Kaz Rahman for his artist talk where he will discuss his new book, which offers a thematic look at how Islamic Art embodies, exemplifies and invents many aspects of Modernism in Painting, Architecture and Film. Kaz will be available to sign copies of the book following the talk.
Kaz is an artist, filmmaker and curator whose style explores the intersection between Islamic artistic expression, the natural elements and contemporary culture. He has been awarded both Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts Grants. His work has screened or exhibited at venues such as Anthology Film Archives in New York City, National Film Board of Canada in Toronto, Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad, India Habitat Centre in Delhi, Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh and The San Jose Museum of Art in California.
