Transformative & tactile: Exploring the contemporary experience at Masters 2017

By Sarah Packer

With a packed out opening of friends, family, staff, industry and fellow designer-makers, our postgraduate students showcased the culmination of one and two-year-long projects at our annual MA Show.

Featuring work from a diverse range of disciplines, the exhibition demonstrated the different ways the agency of creative practice can be used as a form of research into the contemporary experience.

From an embroidered blanket fort that encourages interaction to video installations studying facial movements and everyday actions, and photography exploring themes of childhood, urban experience and the transient nature of memories.

The work communicates the intelligence, commitment, and endeavour of the artists, designers, photographers, and makers graduating from Plymouth College of Art MA programmes this year.

Missed the opening? Don't worry the show runs until Monday 11 September 2017 in The Gallery at Plymouth College of Art (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 10am-2pm, closed Sunday) free and open to all.
