Before deciding where and what to study, it is important that you find out as much as you can about the place and the course you are interested in. At our Open Day, we'll have everything you need to know about our BA (Hons) Degrees.
Our Open Days are a chance for you to explore Plymouth and the college, and to get a feel of what life’s like at an independent art school in Britain's Ocean City. You can experience our state-of-the-art studios and workshops, explore our campus, talk to our programme leaders, visit the accommodation on offer and talk through any questions or queries you might have with our knowledgeable staff. We'll have representatives from Student Finance, Admissions, Student Support and the Students' Union on hand throughout your visit.
We have adapted our Open Days this year to ensure our guests and staff remain safe, so we are offering three set Open Day sessions throughout the day which will be around 2 hours long. These will be from 10am-12pm, 12pm-2pm and 2pm-4pm. We have limited places available, so book your place now.
Your Open Day experience will include:
- A Welcome Talk by our Principal Professor Andrew Brewerton who will give an overview of what Plymouth College of Art has to offer and how studying with us can prepare you for an exciting career in the creative industries.
- A Campus Tour of our state-of-the-art facilities with demonstrations in our workshops from our expert technical staff.
- A Course Overview Talk by our lead academics detailing the vast variety of courses we have on offer and showcasing the successful creative careers our alumni go on to. These talks will be split up into course areas which you will be able to choose from on the day. If you would like to go to more than one course overview talk, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will organise this for you.
There will also be the opportunity to have one-to-one chats with our academic, admissions, and student support staff as well the chance to find out what student life is like from our current students! The topics we can cover include but are not limited to:
- Course Information
- Student Life
- Accommodation (Accommodation tours will be available on request, see below)
- Portfolio Reviews
- Application Process
- Fees and Funding
Extensive measures have been introduced across each Plymouth College of Art building to prepare for reopening. When you arrive for your tour we will take your temperature using a scanner and ask for some basic contact details to support the Local Authority and Public Health England’s Track and Trace initiative. From protective plastic barriers and 2-metre distances between workstations to one way systems and sanitising stations - find out how we are protecting the safety of staff, students and the public.
Our halls and houses are safe, affordable and ideally located just a few minutes walk from the main campus. New starters enjoy no deposit and no additional fees, plus a guaranteed place in their first year! This year our recommended accommodation providers HOST and Clever Student Lets are also pleased to offer negotiated contracts starting from the 3 October 2020 upon request.
If you would like to combine your visit with a personal tour of our Halls of Residence and privately-owned student houses please email email@example.com.
