Our Graduates

Rhys Coren
Rhys Coren completed a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design before going on to complete a degree in Art & Visual Culture at UWE Bristol, and completing a postgraduate diploma in Fine Art at Royal Academy Schools London. Rhys works explores rhythm, colour and texture in work that is characterised by cartoon-like clouds, grids of colour, shadows and the interplay of lines.Now based in London, Rhys was recently commissioned to create a nine metre long public artwork made from bespoke terrazzo, displayed behind Bond Street Crossrail Station in London. He has had solo exhibitions at Galeriepcp, Paris; Seventeen, London; Grimm Gallery, New York and Lumiere Festival, London, with group exhibitions at Identity Gallery, Hong Kong; Spike Island, Bristol; Maria Gallery, Milan and RISE, Berlin.
Zowie Broach
Zowie left Arts University Plymouth in 1985 and went on to set up the highly successful independent fashion label Boudicca. In 2008 Boudicca was invited to become a guest member of Haute Couture in Paris and showed its first Haute Couture collection to rave reviews. Zowie and her partner Brian Kirkby have always been involved in the arts, collaborating with Tate Modern, artist Gillian Wearing, architect David Adjaye and film director Mike Figgis. She is now Head of Fashion at Royal College of Art in London. Zowie was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in 2022 by Arts University Plymouth in recognition of her outstanding contribution to fashion and to fashion design education. Emily Collins
Emily Collins is Digital Manager for Crafts Council, the UK’s national charity for craft, funded by Arts Council England.Emily completed a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Arts University Plymouth in 2009, going on to study BA (Hons) Graphic Design at UAL. Her professional roles since have included Team Leader overseeing marketing and communications for Uni Connect, an Office for Students initiative, Digital Content Editor for Arts University Plymouth and Project Manager for Crafts Magazine.Her expertise includes delivering user-first digital content, products and services, optimising social strategy, user experience and search engine optimisation for national brands.
Kez Dearmer
Kez Dearmer is a visual artist, specialising in painting, 3D modelling and rendering, drawing and model making. Kez graduated from a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design in 2015 with a Distinction before studying Fine Art at UAL. Kez had his work chosen for exhibition and was awarded the Young Artist Award at the Plymouth Contemporary 2021 and had his work included in the exhibition ‘The Great Wen’ at Usual Business Gallery in London. Now based in London, Kez works as a 3D artist as well as illustrating for The Neat Review, a long-form, print-only art journal exploring the crossovers between art and magic.
Jake Paget
Jake Paget, who graduated with a Distinction in Art & Design, is a co-founder of McKinley & Paget, a brand renowned for its plant-based candles and fragrances. The brand was born out of a simple need: to create a plant-based candle that combined good design and natural ingredients. Starting with trading at local markets, the company quickly expanded its reach, securing international stockists and high-profile collaborations. Over the years, they've been featured in prestigious publications like GQ and Wallpaper Magazine. In 2021, they undertook a significant rebrand and received a commission from the Royal Collection Trust for an official Buckingham Palace winter candle. Based in Devon, Jake continues to innovate, recently launching a scent branding arm and focusing on expanding the brand's presence across the UK.
