<p>Before joining Arts University Plymouth in 2017, Eddie was based at the University of Exeter where he completed degrees in English and Film Studies. Here at Arts University Plymouth, Eddie is Cross-College Lecturer in Contextual Studies and Contextual Studies Lecturer in <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-animation-games">BA (Hons) Animation &amp; Games</a>.</p> <p>His AHRC-funded PhD thesis (awarded 2018) focussed on depictions of New York during the time of film’s early development. During his time at the University of Exeter he taught on various modules in the English and Film department.</p> <p>He has published widely on film and associated media and has forthcoming chapters on adaptation and intermediality in the films of Spike Jonze, monstrosity as queerness in contemporary horror film, integration as reception in The Shape of Water, and contemporary adult animation.</p> <p>Eddie is writing a monograph on Stuart Gordon’s Re-Animator, and recently published an edited collection on 21st century horror titled <strong><a href="https://www.uwp.co.uk/book/new-blood/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">New Blood: Critical Approaches to Contemporary Horror</a></strong>, co-edited with Joe Hickinbottom and Jonathan Wroot, University of Wales Press, 2020.</p> <p>As a contextual studies lecturer, Eddie lectures across the university to students on various degree programmes. His role within the animation and games department is to design and deliver contextual studies across the cohort, including dissertation supervision.</p> <p>Eddie has presented conference papers at a variety of international events, has given public lectures, and has served as a peer-reviewer for journals in film studies.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Tom Milnes is an artist, curator and researcher based in Plymouth, UK. He is Senior Lecturer and Course Leader of Postgraduate Studies at Arts University Plymouth.</p> <p dir="ltr">Milnes’ research practice explores the materiality of technology, engaging with the cultural impact of 3D imaging media through glitch practice and Media Archaeology. He holds a Ph.D. from Falmouth University, with his thesis concentrating on glitch practices in 3D photogrammetry, and his research interests include Post-Digital processes, online cultures, and 3D image aesthetics. Milnes has recently published research papers with the Journal of Artistic Research and Visual Resources.<br /></p> <p dir="ltr">Milnes has exhibited internationally including at: W139 - Amsterdam , iMKONSTHALL, Sweden, AND/OR - London, The Centre for Contemporary Art Laznia - Gdansk, and Gyeonggi International Biennale - Korea. Milnes has recently exhibited at FORMAT International Photography Festival. He is the curator and founder of the online platforms Digital Artist Residency and Polygon Palm.<br /></p>
