This course will prepare you to progress onto one of our degree courses, such as:

Making Change will introduce you to various artistic techniques, and you will develop a portfolio of work as you go. During the course you will make, discuss and experiment with materials and ideas, whilst preparing for entry onto one of our degree-level courses. You will be supported in making an application, and you will improve your knowledge of the higher education sector.

You will be given support on completing your application, on how to prepare for your university interview, as well as comprehensive student finance advice. Previous graduates of our Making Change courses have gone on to study at degree level on subjects including Fashion, Textiles, Fine Art, 3D Design Crafts and Painting, Drawing & Printmaking.

You don’t even need to have a portfolio prepared - you just have to bring your enthusiasm and meet the following criteria:

  • At the start of the course I am aged 18+

  • I'm eligible to work in the UK (i.e. I have a National Insurance number)

  • I want to explore higher education opportunities at an undergraduate or postgraduate level. (Please note, if you have previously studied at undergraduate or postgraduate level and you are looking at student finance to fund your degree after this course, then you may not be accepted. We would advise you to contact Student Finance England to discuss your eligibility for additional funding.)

‘I enjoyed how much it stimulated my "art brain" after neglecting it for so long! The course inspired me in ways I didn't think it would.’
