At-Home Make Sheets (all-ages) — Overview
In response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, we have suspended all upcoming Young Arts activities to protect our community's health and wellbeing. Whether online or on campus, at Plymouth College of Art we remain committed to providing you with creative learning experiences and we will resume our event schedule as soon as it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, we hope you will find our new At-Home Make Sheets enjoyable. These short-burst projects are designed to keep young learners actively engaged in creative thinking and making. Look out for a new Make Sheet every week in your inbox, and don’t forget to share your creations with us on social media.
What is a Make Sheet?
A Make Sheet is a step-by-step creative activity for you to enjoy at home. Each Make Sheet will include information on materials, duration, parental supervision and visual examples to help you get going.
Where can I find one?
If you’re an existing subscriber to the Young Arts newsletter you will receive a new Make Sheet mailout every Saturday, starting from 2 May 2020. Register here if you’re yet to sign-up to our mailing list. Previous mailouts will also be viewable at the bottom of this web-page for re-visiting at a later date or to share with your friends, family or school. For more information please email email@example.com
What will I need?
Each activity is designed to be carried out at home with minimal effort and basic art supplies. If you are missing any tools we are happy to suggest some alternative’s for you to try out using items you can usually find in the cupboard.
Who are Make Sheets for?
Activities are suitable for all ages, but we advise that anyone under the age of 9 years old should work with adult supervision. Teenagers can also enjoy these activities if they aim for a more intricate creative outcome. Each activity is enjoyable for all the family, so if you’re a grown-up who’s always wanted to get stuck in at one of our workshops - now is the time!
Share your work! We love to see what you have been creating at home and it's helpful to stay connected. To share your creations with us online please upload pictures to Instagram and tag @pca_youngarts or use the hashtag #pcayoungarts
Don’t forget to display your work at home or stick it in your sketchbook if you are working towards your Arts Award at the moment.
Booking information for Saturday Arts Club and holiday activities will become available here and we will notify you via the Young Arts newsletter when in-person delivery recommences.
If you are one of our older students and would like to study a course at Plymouth College of Art when you leave school or college, we encourage you to browse our course pages and take a virtual tour. You might also like to attend our next digital drop-in for more information on student life, course content and making a portfolio.
