Three of our talented photography graduates have been selected as finalists for this year’s Association of Photographers’ Student Awards.
Originally formed in 1968, The Association of Photographers (AoP) is the leading UK organisation for photography offering support and professional opportunities for photographers.
With only 55 finalists chosen from over 1,200 national entries, photography graduates Jennifer-Anne Crowther, who is currently studying on our MA Photography programme, Jon Cooney, BA (Hons) Commercial Photography graduate and Kinga Burakowska, BA (Hons) Photography graduate, have each had their work chosen by industry experts as being amongst the best of 2016’s students and graduates.
"The recognition of their work in such a prestigious national award is fantastic endorsement of the quality of their work and their commitment to their study of Photography at the college.” — Tim Gundry, Programme Leader.
For this year’s show Jenn, Jon and Kinga will each exhibit alongside leading peers in an exhibition themed around ‘Things, People & Places’ in London at theprintspace gallery from 28 July - 9 August 2016, where the three ‘Best in Category’ and one overall ‘Best in Show’ winner will be announced.
Programme Leader Tim Gundry commented on the success of his students, “The Association of Photographers (AoP) Student Awards is one of the most prestigious student competitions in the UK.
“Countless photographers have built their careers on the kudos of winning an AOP Award, in terms of both publicity and recognition amongst their peers. The Student Awards offers an excellent springboard for an aspiring photographer.
“This year, three students studying Photography at Plymouth College of Art have been shortlisted as finalists in the Awards, their work to be exhibited in London in July and August.
