Unique, behind-the-scenes sketches by our students of hidden museum archives have gone on display to members of the public now.
Last month our BA (Hons) Painting, Drawing and Printmaking were given special, backstage access to the range of paintings, prints and objects catalogued and conserved in Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery
And now their drawings are on display in the foyer of the museum – at the same time that works by Matisse, Warhol, and Picasso are being exhibited in the building.
Programme leader Stephen Felmingham said: “The students are all very excited about showing in the same building as the current print show of Warhol, Picasso and Matisse.”
The new initiative, developed with museum Education Officer Adam Milford, is the first time students have been allowed into the museum's storage areas to work.
The drawings are on display in the foyer of the museum now until 5th July.
