Principal, Andrew Brewerton was interviewed on Chinese television about Making Futures presence at Beijing Design Week and the importance of craft.
"Making Futures is a community of practice, it's a group of people who meet in Plymouth every two years and they come from business, they come from artisan workshops. They come from the big brands, some of them are sociologists, some are ethnographers, so we work almost with the anthropology of craft as well."
The Making Futures team and specially selected guests vistied Beijing for the pop up conference. They were the centerpiece for the Dashilar programme and initiated a debate about Chinese craft and where they sit at the moment.
"Making Futures will be of interest to China, we also think the Chinese contribution to Making Futures, as a community practice conversation, will be very important so this is the way we extend our family."
