We’re pleased to announce that Lucy Leake, BA (Hons) Film Programme Leader has been appointed as an Associate Editor at Screenworks.
This is a fantastic addition to her positions as Secretary for NAHEMI (National Association for Higher Education in the Moving Image) and jury member for Plymouth Film Festival.
Established in 2006, Screenworks is a peer-reviewed online publication of practice research in film and screen media, the first of its kind.
What is unique about Screenworks is that the work is subject to academic peer review, just as an academic journal article would be, providing evidence of the impact, significance, originality and rigour of the practice as research.
The platform creates a supportive, yet rigorous research environment for the academic community researching screen media through practice, whilst at the same time engaging with wider audiences.
Graduates from our BA (Hons) Film programme have gone on to win numerous awards with institutions such as the Royal Television Society and Prime Cuts; work on commissions for the BBC and The Mill, and seen their work screened at Encounters, Aesthetica Film Festival, International Festival Signe de Nuit, London Surf Film Festival, Szczecin European Film Festival and Edinburgh International Film Festival, to name a few, as well as being invited to speak on panels for the British Film Institute (BFI) and the Culture in Conflict conference.
