Graphic Design students have launched an innovative business card service, creating minimal designs for anyone looking to strengthen their personal practice or brand from just £20.
The third years from our BA (Hons) Graphic Design programme, Tatsu Ishikawa and Oliver Harrison, have launched the new project to raise funds for their course trip to annual design show D&AD.
“We wanted to offer a service that used our skills as designers and also helped students and staff strengthen the brand of their personal practice,” said Tatsu Ishikawa.
“Many of the students and staff here are practicing artists and makers away from the college who work on freelance commissions. We want to help boost their profile with simple, typographic-based but beautifully-designed business cards,” he added.
Tatsu and Oliver will work closely with those looking for a fresh new business card and will create design specific to their needs, whether it’s for a glass artist, a freelance photographer, a fashion designer, or more.
For an additional cost, Tatsu and Oliver can also are offering to create logos or encorporate photography into the business cards, and will also help to recommend the best places to get it to print.
“We’re hoping to hear from anyone who needs a beautiful new business card, and want to create a design specific to their individual needs as artists and designers. And hopefully we can raise lots for our trip to D&AD!”
D&AD New Blood is an annual design show where our BA (Hons) Graphic Design students will get the opportunity to show off their work to industry, with a view to landing employment as soon as they graduate.
This year’s D&AD New Blood will take place in Old Spitalfields Market in Shoreditch, East London from 30 June to 2nd July 2015. See more.
