Students from our BA (Hons) Fashion programme showcased their interactive stand at Clothes Show Live 2015 earlier this month, winning them the Best University or College Stand Award at the event. Inviting visitors to colour in wallpaper and bedding and try on garments made by the students made it popular at the show which hosts a range of shops, boutiques, catwalk shows and celebrities.
BA (Hons) Photography grad Nicholas White has been awarded Landscape Photographer of the Year: Commended, securing a place in the London exhibition and in the commemorative awards book with his stunning landscape photography. The national competition celebrates the British landscape and was founded by leading landscape photographer Charlie Waite.
BA (Hons) Textiles student Ildiko Hurley has been awarded first prize in the i-dott awards – enabling students to connect directly with the design and textiles industry – with a 1950’s car-inspired wallpaper design. She attended the awards ceremony at the Whitworth Museum where celebrity designer Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen presented Ildiko with her award.
BA (Hons) Fashion graduate Stacie Clark has been nominated for the Sponsor Me Awards – an initiative supporting emerging fashion designers – for her graduate knitwear collection. Popular at Graduate Fashion Week last year and featured in several publications, it's no wonder Stacie's collection has been selected for this exciting award.
BA (Hons) Jewellery and Silversmithing student Stacey West has won first place in the Jewellery and Fashion category at Pewter Live 2015, with an additional award of Highly Commended from the Giftware Association category.
