This year, for the first time, the annual student conference has been organised by second year students across all programme areas.
A wide range of events and activities will be taking place at various locations within the college from Tuesday 13 - Thursday 15 February. Each day will be led by one of the three schools within the college; media, art and design.
Tuesday will see a range of events from the Media school, including BA (Hons) Commercial Photography for Fashion, Advertising and Editorial students who as part of the conference invite visitors to engage with them over social media by uploading a photo representing 'water and dreams' and using the hashtag #pcawateranddreams.
Wednesday is led by the Art school, with BA (Hons) Painting, Drawing & Printmaking students offering a varied programme of activities. From printmaking and drawing workshops to guest speakers, their day will culminate in a panel debate discussing a range of themes such as how to maintain levels of production after graduation and the best advice for emerging artists.
On Thursday, BA (Hons) Fashion students will put together a production line, allowing visitors a chance to experience behind the scenes of fashion production. Utilising a number of workstations, each will focus on a different stage in the process of creating a garment which guests will be encouraged to engage in.
Also on Thursday, BA (Hons) Graphic Design students will be hosting an event at the Warehouse, aimed at identifying the importance of traditional design techniques. Mark Richards will be a guest speaker, detailing his career in graphic painting and this will run alongside a screen printing workshop with a variety of items on sale.
