Hit factory reset on mainstream models of schooling: clock into our education factory and explore personalised journeys through creative education.
HTTP 404. Meaningful learning not found. The education system is on high alert – time for a reboot? Let's beta test a new, agile model of education.
What kind of art education will we need in a world that is being transformed by automation? Disrupt the system, deconstruct the production line and navigate your own route through an eclectic range of workstations and encounters. Engage in making and unmaking, learning and unlearning, and enjoy a transformative experience that cannot be prescribed or predetermined. Each workstation will be designed and operated by staff and students from the school and college’s continuum community.
All activities are FREE. Drop in and clock in for shifts throughout the day. The factory is open to all ages and abilities, with different production stations offering different experiences for you to select from.
Where do I clock in?
From guerilla screen-printing to purposeful protest, and from student scrutiny boards to disruptive quality controllers – journey through our range of production stations. Discover potential for creative encounters and leave with a new perspective on what education is and can be.
School’s out and learning with purpose is in at the DE-SCHOOL station. Swap sitting at a desk for performative group 'swimming lessons' and experiment using fruit and vegetables as part of a playful alternative beauty regime.
Will you cross the picket line to reach your chosen production station or will you down-tools and join the protest? Whichever path you choose, every station offers a new way to participate, with lots of opportunities to create artwork to take home with you.
A simultaneous network of educational production stations will take place remotely at Plymouth College of Art and Plymouth School of Creative Arts sites in the South West.
This event is programmed by Plymouth College of Art, a Tate Exchange Associate.
