Here at Plymouth College of Art we don’t need any excuses to get stuck into doing something creative, so this summer we’re opening up some fun, free workshops for the public to take part in at Drake Circus shopping mall.
Join our team of creative staff and students on our stand throughout the week of 22-26 July, and they’ll teach you to screenprint, make badges, do some mindfulness colouring in a Zentangle workshop, or make your contribution to our big, collaborative doodle.
Our staff will also be on hand to answer any questions you might have about the courses available at Plymouth College of Art, as well as arranging bespoke tours of our facilities if you’d like to find out more about what it’s like to study at an independent art university.
See below for more details and just drop by our stand in Drake Circus Mall on the day.
Monday 22 July
Screen Printing (all day, until 6pm)
Choose a design and have a go at screen printing a tote on our portable screen printer! Once it’s dry, you can take your freshly printed tote home with you.
Tuesday 23 July
Badge Making (all day, until 6pm)
Choose a design and make a badge, or come up with your own design.
Wednesday 24 July
Zentangle/Mindfulness colouring (all day, until 6pm)
Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. The art produced is non-representational and unplanned so you can focus on each stroke and not worry about the result.
Thursday 25 July
Screen Printing (all day, until 4pm)
Badge Making (from 4pm until 8pm)
Choose a design and have a go at screen printing a tote on our portable screen printer, all day until 4pm! Once it’s dry, you can take your freshly printed tote home with you. From 4pm until 8pm you can try your hand at badge making - either use some of our pre-made designs or come up with your own.
Friday 26 July
Collaborative Indian Ink Project (all day, until 6pm)
Join one of our MA Painting students and some of our Illustration students to create a group doodle using mixed media (chalk/ink/fineliners/crayons) on a long roll of wallpaper, entitled ‘Summer 2019’.
All workshops are free, no need to book - just drop by!
