Graduate Outcomes Survey

Graduate Outcomes is a national survey which gathers information about the activities of graduates 15 months after they’ve finished their studies.

As a Plymouth College of Art graduate, your response to this survey is very important as it will:

  • Enable our Careers and Employability Service to provide tailored careers advice which you can continue to access as a Plymouth College of Art Alumni
  • Support prospective students with insight into their potential career destinations
  • Be heard! Empower policy makers, charities, journalists, researchers and others, to understand the higher education sector and current trends within the graduate jobs market.

You will receive an email inviting you to complete the survey online or you may be contacted by telephone.

Graduate Outcomes Survey FAQ
  • How will it affect me?
Anyone who graduates after 1 August 2017 will be asked to complete the survey so expect to be contacted 15 months after this date.

You will be asked about your activity since graduation so tell them about everything from work, further study, personal portfolio building and business ventures.
  • Why does it matter?
Your responses to this survey are incredibly important. The results help current and future students gain an insight into career possibilities and they help us to evaluate the courses we offer. The survey is also of national significance as it allows policy makers, charities, journalists, researchers and others to understand the higher education sector and the state of the graduate labour market.

Before starting the survey you will be provided with detailed information about how your data will be processed, who will receive it, and what they will use it for.
  • How will I be surveyed?
You will receive an email initially inviting you to complete the survey online. So please make sure your details are up to date! If you would like to update the details we have on file for you, please email

If you have been unable to complete the survey online you may then be contacted by telephone and asked to complete the survey over the phone. If you are not contactable, we may seek information for a third party, such as a family member.
  • Who runs the Graduate Outcomes Survey?
The Graduate Outcomes survey is owned by HESA, the Higher Education Statistics Agency. HESA support the advancement of the higher education sector by collecting and publishing timely and reliable data about the sector. The administration of the Graduate Outcomes survey is undertaken by a third-party contractor who works in collaboration with HESA and the College.

You can find out more about HESA and how your information is used by heading to their website.
  • What if I don’t want to be surveyed?
It is not compulsory to complete the survey. When you are contacted by the survey organisation, you will be able to opt out and you will not be contacted again.
