The Refectory

Plymouth College of Art’s Refectory is located on the ground floor next to the Reception and Students Union at our Tavistock Place campus. The Refectory serves breakfast and lunch, as well as a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Our programme of building work during the summer of 2018 saw us completely revamp The Refectory space, which reopened in late September with a brand new kitchen, and with a wall of new floor to ceiling doors opening out the space looking onto Tavistock Place, as well as beautifully crafted solid wooden tables with bench seats.

With the north-west facing windows allowing sunlight to stream into the room, The Refectory is a great place to grab lunch, chat about group work with your coursemates, or just chill out between lectures. Two new comfortable booth seating areas have also been installed if you’re looking for a quieter space to eat or chat.

Check out The Refectory menu.

The Refectory menu offers a great range of affordable options for everyone in the college, with a selection of freshly made deli sandwiches, healthy salad pots and hot pot dishes like mexican beans with nachos and cheese, lentil dhal with saag aloo, and creamy mushroom tagliatelle, to name just a few, with a different hot pot every day of the week. A range of freshly made pizzas and burgers are also on offer, from margarita pizza to flaming chicken burgers, there should be something to satisfy every appetite.

Get your day off to a good start with breakfast in The Refectory - the menu includes avocado on toast with a poached egg, as well as breakfast waffles served with banana and syrup or bacon, and a range of sausage, egg or bacon baps.

The Refectory is open from Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, but if you’re working late in the studios and need to grab a sandwich or drink, there is plenty of choice with a range of packaged sandwiches and vending machines, so you can grab and go.

A range of deals will be on offer throughout the year, so make sure you pop into The Refectory to check them out or keep an eye on the digital screens throughout the campus.
