Introduction to Illustration (January 2011 start) at Plymouth College of Art
Description:
Through experimentation with a range of expressive drawing and mark-making techniques you will be encouraged to develop methods of visually communicating and complementing the written word. This course will allow you to explore the relationship between word and image through a range of illustrative contexts – from editorial illustration (work for magazines and newspapers), publishing (book covers & illustrated books) to sequential image-making (artwork for comics and graphic novels).
Entry requirements: No experience required apart from enthusiasm and motivation.
What you need to bring: Notebook and pen. Other materials will be discussed at the first class.
