BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design at Plymouth College of Art

What will I do?

 “Different, fun, enjoyable and open minded with a variety of subjects.”

That’s how one of our students described this diverse one-year course. This is an opportunity to learn a variety of creative skills and develop transferrable skills like teamwork and communication that will take you confidently into further study or employment.

You will be guided through the experience by experienced and supportive tutors who have worked in industries including advertising, theatre, photography, graphic design, and interior and landscape design.

You will get the chance to explore Photography, Textiles and Fashion, Moving Image, Print, Graphics/illustration, 2D and 3D Design, Drawing and Painting and Design software. You will be set live project briefs and get the chance to exhibit and build a portfolio of your creative work.

This course gives you the chance to experiment within the supportive and creative environment of a specialist Art College. You will get out of this course what you put in and as a result you will emerge a more confident and creative individual with a clearer idea of which creative area you would like to specialise in.

You will get the chance to explore and experiment with a variety of different mediums to develop a creative portfolio that is unique to your experience on the course.
