BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design (TVC) at Plymouth College of Art
NOTE: To apply for this course, you must currently be at School, have their agreement to study this Course, and have already spoken with the Course Leader Mel Morrell.
What will I do on this course?
You will have the opportunity to work towards developing expertise in a range of Art and Design skills.
This course will include:
- Photography: Digital and SLR
- Textiles and Fashion
- Moving Image: Animation and Adobe Premier
- Ceramics
- Graphics: Adobe Photoshop
- 2D and 3D Design
- Drawing and Painting
- E-media and Experiment Audio
You will also be starting to build your knowledge on contemporary and historical art movements within your practice.
BTEC Introductory Certificate/Diploma in Art and Design equivalent to 2 GCSE’s A* - C
Learning Skills and Complementary qualifications are embedded into this course
What qualifications will I need?
A range of GCSE grades at minimum grade E plus a portfolio of art work. Applications welcome from candidates without formal qualifications who can provide evidence of their creativity.
How do I apply for this course?
We offer all prospective students an opportunity to request an advisory interview to ensure that you are placed on the most suitable course; this can be a good opportunity to ask questions and get some advice on what we like to see in a portfolio.
When we receive your completed application form we will arrange for you to have an interview and ask you to bring along examples of your creative work.
Whilst we are happy to receive applications at any time of the year, we would encourage you to apply as early as possible before the start of the course.
