Foundation Degree Spatial Design at Plymouth College of Art
Serena Scrine
Now a full time educationalist, Serena’s background is in community projects with landscape design. For example, she worked with residents of local flats to discuss possible landscaping improvements. The residents’ overall process in developing improvements was filmed by the BBC as a documentary called ’The Estate We’re In’.
Gemma Phippen
Gemma works as an interior designer with mainly commercial hospitality briefs with clubs, restaurants, cafes and hotels. She comes in regularly from her office ‘Gemma and Martin Payne’. She is interested in layouts that improve access and use of the space, and in a coherent theme that ties the place together.
Robert Bedner
Robert designs ‘buildings that feel like a place’ and has worked in Europe and North America in architecture, and in multidisciplinary teams composed of artists designers and architects. He comes in regularly from his office ‘Research and design’. Hi particular interest is in how the inside and outside relate to each other in architecture, and how subtle adjustments in refurbishment or original design can increase our delight in the building and our connection to the natural world.
