Graphic Design is visual communication. It is about manipulating typography, colour, images and forms across a broad range of media such as print, TV, the Internet – to create meanings and messages that people will both notice and understand. To be successful as a graphic designer you must be innovative, creative and understand your tools, your media and your audience. Our programme will help you to develop these critical skills and to thrive within the contemporary graphic design industry.
This responsive, dynamic and fluid graphic design programme gives students a real understanding of the diverse outputs of Graphic Design and the fundamental skills for success in this exciting
industry. Throughout, you will develop your personal creative identity. Importantly, you’ll put theory to the test on work placements. From graphic symbols, logotypes and developing original fonts for Brand Identities, to online and public space advertising campaigns, digital motion imagery, ambient graphics, and limited edition press books and magazines, your confidence and competence will grow. Prepare to challenge established styles in communication arts through experimentation, conceptual thinking and testing materials and processes. Finally, exhibiting at events such as ‘New Designers’, and D&AD’s ‘New Blood’ London-based shows will celebrate your work on a national level.
