BA (Hons) Fashion (3 year) at Plymouth College of Art
BA (Hons) Fashion Design* is an exciting and creative subject which offers students the opportunity to enter many career pathways. Whether students aim to become designers, technologists, buyers or merchandisers this course will offer students a range of learning opportunities from which they gain the essential skills required across the fashion sphere.
The Fashion degrees positively encourages diversity, creativity and individuality. Whether it is mastering the technical skills of pattern cutting, using an industrial CAD/CAM process or organising and styling a live photo shoot, a Plymouth College of Art BA student will become confident in the contextual, construction and marketing aspects of fashion.
Throughout the three years students will be offered opportunities to explore another creative practice and work on multi disciplinary projects. These aim to further understanding of the complex interrelationship between the creative arts and the world we live in whilst developing essential professional skills such as project management and communication. Many modules incorporate business skills which raise awareness of the marketing issues that affect production, design, the fashion industry and how their career could progress.
The emphasis of the course lies in developing students as individuals and has been created to enhance and expand the students’ knowledge in many aspects, ensuring their final collections and portfolios will reflect their post graduate ambitions.

All the College's Higher Education provision is validated by the Open University. New programmes are required to go through an extensive approval process conducted by The Open University. The College is required to advertise any new programme as 'subject to validation' until this process has been completed.
