The Students’ Union of Plymouth College of Art is here to make your time at the college a more enjoyable place to be.
The Students’ Union at PCA was originally launched in 1998 and called SURFA after an outcry from the student body for representation within the college.
SURFA remained until 2007 where the Union was brought forward for review and a new identity was created, which was in good time for the rebranding of the entire college. So we said goodbye to SURFA and created PCA:SU.
Under the new identity the students union here at PCA looks to move forward and improve your everyday student life styles.
WHY WE ARE HERE:
The Students’ Union’s main aim is to represent and provide services for the students in every aspect of college life, from academic to social to welfare and personal support. It aims to provide constructive and effective representation, high quality services and exciting opportunities to enrich the "student experience".

What we Offer:
Clubs and Societies
PCA:SU looks to provide a number of clubs and societies for students and also aims to involve as many students as possible within these clubs and societies. We have successfully provided four clubs; Belly Dancing, Chess club, Film Night, and Football club, which are all run by students.
Events and Trips
The students union at PCA loves to party and get the students partying!! Previously, the union has held a wide range of events starting from Freshers Week! We have a lot lined up this Fresher's Week and for the rest of the year. We have managed to get a partnership with a bar over the road from the college, called BLUSH. PCA students have there own menus with a yummy selection of foods as well as special drinks bargains as well. This is a monumental breakthrough for our students so to make the bar and the college come together we are having art competitions for students to design how they would like their bar to look like!!
Committee and Elected Student Body
All positions for Students Union are voluntary posts. Elections happen once a year at the end of spring term and provides the students a fantastic opportunity to really make a difference to their union; here at PCA:SU the elections give any students the chance to become part of the executive committee of officers.
