Further Education: National Diploma, First Diploma, Foundation Diploma, Foundation Degree level 0 Courses and Apprenticeship Programmes.

Our Further Education provision caters for all ages and backgrounds. We have a range of specialist and vocational courses, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to progress in your chosen creative field.

Plymouth College of Art offers exciting opportunities in art and design from the age of 14 onwards ranging from the young apprenticeship programme and creative apprenticeships to BTEC first and national diplomas and degree level programmes.

So if you are studying for GCSE’s, A-levels, or wish to gain access to an art and design degree as an adult following a break or a career change, we have a course for you. In conjunction with local schools, we deliver a new and exciting Diploma in Creative and Media. This has been designed to provide vocational based learning for those wishing to pursue a career in the creative industries. To find out more about the age 14-19 Diploma click here

The College also offers the BTEC First Diploma(TVC) where students can continue studying at school as well as attending the College to study Art and Design from the age of 14. This is delivered in partnership with the Tamar Valley Consortium.

If you are completing your GCSE’s and want to study in a creative and inspiring environment, we offer a number of specialist National Diploma and BTEC Courses which are the equivalent of 3 A levels and will help you to progress directly onto a relevant university level (HE) programme in this College and other Universities.

For those students who didn’t do so well in their GCSE's but know they wish to further their education by specialising in Art and Design, we offer the BTEC First Diploma, which is the equivalent of 4/5 GCSE and enables you to progress straight onto one of our National Diploma Courses.

We offer a number of further education courses specifically designed as pre-entry qualifications to university. There are suitable for those who wish to return to study or are looking for a career change.

For those who have just finished A levels and are unsure about which area of Art and Design to specialise in, or ultimately need to strengthen their portfolio, we offer a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design or a Foundation Degree Level 0 in:-
