Support for Studying and Learning
This College recognises that students have different learning needs and different learning styles. This is reflected in the diverse range of students we have at the College. The College is fully committed to providing every student with the same opportunities to achieve and progress, for students with additional learning needs this could mean you require extra support to enable you to do so.
You will be given opportunities to inform staff of any special requirements that you may have relating to mental health, mobility, hearing, vision, long term medical conditions or any aspects of learning. You have the right to decide how the information given to us will be used. We also encourage you to be involved in making choices regarding any requirements you have in relation to your learning. However, we wish to reassure you that information that you pass on to us about your learning requirements or disability will only be used to enhance your learning experience.
The Learning Skills staff are always available to talk to students about any aspect of their progress, and can provide advice, information and support relating to any aspect of learning difficulty. The team is also available to offer support to students who have physical/mobility difficulties or mental health issues which may affect their learning experience.
Our goal is to provide students with the necessary support as soon as possible and therefore the College actively encourages students to come and talk to any member of staff if they feel they need extra support.
The Learning Skills Team is also available to offer advice and guidance to students who are considering applying to the College so if you have any concerns or issues you wish to raise with us then you will find contact details at the bottom of this page.
