Exhibitions at the College

The College hosts a rolling programme of exhibitions and events, which are intrinsically linked to the Visiting Lecture programme. The exhibitions and events programme reflects contemporary current art practice by offering diverse and exciting exhibitions including cross-college themed exhibitions, symposia, staff exhibitions, artists in residence, festivals and invited artists’ exhibitions.

The opportunity for students to present their finished products in either an exhibition or screening is an important aspect of any art and design programme. The College is fortunate in having its own galleries: the Gallery and state-of-the-art Studio Theatre – both of which host exhibitions of work by current and former students and visiting artists – and the Lift Gallery, in which smaller 2D and 3D exhibitions take place. There are also many opportunities to exhibit work within the Online Galleries at http://gallery.p.ac.uk/.

At the end of each academic year the College holds its Summer Show, an exhibition of work produced by our graduating students that includes live fashion shows and video/film presentations, as well as exhibits from all areas of the College’s work. The show is open to the public and attracts thousands of visitors. Students also take part in prestigious national showcases such as the New Designers exhibition, D&AD Young Blood and Graduate Fashion Week, which all take place in London.
