2012/13 Financial Help

The College is committed to ensuring Higher Education is accessible and affordable for all students. We offer a variety of financial support to help our Students with their study. Our bursaries and scholarships for 2012/13 are summarised below.

National Scholarship Scheme

The College has 14 places under the National Scholarship Scheme (NSS) to help support English domiciled Students (the Government has excluded other parts of the UK). The College is adding additional funding to this scheme which enables us to offer a £6,000 fee remission (so you only pay £3,000). To initially qualify, your household income must be below £25,000. College Prize Scheme

The College is also able to offer 3 £9,000 awards and 3 £4,500 awards under our own scheme. These will be allocated on the basis of past academic achievement, portfolio and presentation at interview. There is no household income limit for this award. Please note that the application process for these schemes closes on Friday August 10th 2012.

Any awards made for 2012/13 will relate to that academic year only, the applicant can still apply for any future academic years.

Awarded to children of parents born in Cornwall (one scholarship applied on merit)

Dorris Gerrard Scholarship
Awarded on merit to any student from any region other than Cornwall

Student Finance

If you are thinking about entering Higher Education and wish to find out about what statutory financial support you may be entitled to and how to apply or you are an existing student and require information on renewing your support visit the website www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance

Alternatively, you can telephone their Customer Support Office on 0845 607 7577. The Customer Support Office is open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5.30pm.

Information for 2012 applicants

September 2012 is to bring about significant changes to the ways in which Higher Education is to be funded. The government has allowed Higher Education Institutions (HEI's) within England to charge tuition fees of between £6,000 to £9,000 however, you will not need to find any of this money up-front.

The loans and grants that you may be entitled to for you maintenance are also changing, for more information please see the documents below.

Full time students

Part time students
