Welcome to our international pages, Plymouth College of Art has a growing international student population who are able to benefit from studying at one of the specialist Art and Design colleges in the country. The College which has been established for over 150 years is well placed to offer all students a rewarding experience with the ultimate aim of creating specialist practitioners over the broad disciplines of art, design and media.

How to make an application

Further Education Courses

All applications for our further education courses are made directly to the College; please follow this link for further information on what we offer and to apply.

Undergraduate programmes

All applications for undergraduate degree programmes need to be made through the University and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS) please follow this link to start your application, follow this link for a guided tour of how to apply to UCAS. UCAS charge all students a fee for using this service and currently the cost is �19 and allows you to apply for up to five programmes of study.

Portfolio guidance and how to submit one

All our courses require a portfolio of work before any decision can be made on an offer of a place; please use this link where you will find some useful tips and information on preparing a portfolio of work. As an international applicant we understand that it is not always possible to attend an interview therefore we can accept a portfolio of work on CD.

What happens after the application is received?

Once you have made your application you will be contacted via letter or email to confirm receipt and will be requested to submit your portfolio in CD format. Once the portfolio is received it will be passed to the relevant Programme or Course leader and they will assess your suitability for your chosen subject.

Once a decision has been made you will be informed in writing, if you have been made an offer of a place it will be subject to an English Language condition.

English Requirements

All students will need to satisfy a language requirement. For students whose first language is not English the minimum level of English is:

Further Education Courses - IELTS of 5.5 or TOEFL 527 (paper based test), 71 (internet based test)

Undergraduate Programmes - IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 (paper based test), 79 (internet based test)

Payment of Tuition Fees

All course and programme fees need to be paid for in full upon enrolment. If you would like to pay all or part of your fees before coming to the College you can send us a bankers draft made payable to �Plymouth College of Art� and we will send you a receipt. We are unable to offer the option of instalments.

Fee Assessing

Each applicant will be fee assessed this is because students are charged different fees depending on whether they are classed as home or overseas. You can download your own fee assessing form here, and send it back to us along with all the relevant documentation to:
