How to Apply for a degree programme
All applicants need to apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) website. The address is www.ucas.com. There is now a single application route, which allows you to submit up to five choices. The closing date for receipt of applications is 15 January.
We strongly encourage you to make your application before the above deadline so that we are able to offer you an interview and move promptly through the application cycle. However, we will consider applications received after the closing date if there are still places available on your chosen degree programme.
Part-time Study
If you wish to study part-time on one of our degree programmes please contact Sharon Betts in Admissions on 01752 203402 to request an application form.
Interviews and Portfolios
Although your UCAS application will provide us with information about your qualifications and previous experience, studying the Arts is about so much more than that. We want to see your creative potential, ability and passion and for this reason every applicant will be invited to attend an interview and you will be expected to bring a portfolio of your work. Your interview will provide you with an opportunity to talk about your aspirations, what inspires you and why you want to study at Plymouth College of Art. It also gives us a chance to explain what we, as a College, can offer you. By looking at your portfolio we will be able to consider your specific interests and abilities. This will help us, and you, decide whether Plymouth College of Art is the right place for you to study.
The College aims to respond to all applicants within two working weeks with an interview date and time. Most interviews take place on week-days so please bear this in mind.
Advisory Interviews
If you need guidance, further information or if you would just like to talk through your options you can book an advisory interview. This gives you an opportunity to have an informal discussion with a member of the College Advisory Team before you apply. They can advise you on the area of Art and Design that will best suit your aspirations and give you advice on how to develop your portfolio for interview. It is a good idea to bring with you any work that demonstrates your creativity.
To book an advisory interview please contact the Info Point on 01752 203434 or email infoservices@plymouthart.ac.uk
