Devon Moors and Coasts

Need a get away from the city and breathe in some fresh air?

One of the best perks to living in Plymouth is our closeness to the countryside and coast! Here are some of the best places to visit:

Dartmoor National Park (www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk). Here you have over 368 square miles to explore with breath taking views to take in, tors to climb, deep wooded gorges and beautiful lake like reservoirs all to see! The largest and wildest area of open country in southern England, it is a beautiful place to visit all year round.

South Hams (www.visitsouthdevon.co.uk) – here are some of the best beaches in the UK on offer with stunning coastlines and coves to explore with visits to pretty market towns and historic villages, a must for anyone living in Plymouth!

Cornwall – Plymouth is just on the border between Devon and Cornwall and therefore is ideally positioned to explore the various attractions, beaches and villages within Cornwall. From the Eden Project, to the artificial diving reef the Scylla located near Whitsand Bay, to the surfing capital of Newquay, there is a no better place to visit particularly during summer!

By living in Plymouth, venturing into the countryside or onto the coast couldn’t be easier. Whether it’s relaxing, surfing, rock climbing, canoeing, hiking, biking or diving that takes your fancy, it’s all on your doorstep here.
