Nightlife and Live Music
Plymouth’s nightlife is a varied and exciting with live music, sophisticated bars and lively nightclubs all eager to keep you entertained after the sun sets. Whether it’s gigs from the likes of Faithless, Basement Jaxx, Jack Johnson or Kaiser Chiefs at Plymouth Pavilions or electro, dance, drum and bass or funk nights at one of Plymouth’s many nightclubs, the city has no end of ways to get you moving.
Theatre
Plymouth’s theatre land is also quite varied with a number of theatres from the Theatre Royal, one of the best theatres in the county offering productions from the West End, to the Barbican Theatre.
Cinema
Located within the city centre, there is also the Vue cinema, a 15 screen multiplex, the ABC Cinema as well as Plymouth Arts Centre which not only showcases exhibitions but also movies is well.
The College also holds an annual film festival which showcases work from emerging film artists, new talent, student work as well as established artists.
Eating Out
Eating wise, there are a multitude of county and waterside cafes, pubs and restaurants to choose from. The Barbican is not only a nice place to pick up unusual shopping items but offers an abundance of establishments to eat, drink and dine in. So whatever your fancy, Plymouth has every food need filled.
Sports
A sporting Mecca, Plymouth loves to play. With rugby, football, basketball, cricket, netball, swimming, hockey, squash, tennis, skiing and rowing clubs on offer both in community and student teams, you’ll be spoilt for choice. And if you prefer watching, there are regular Plymouth Argyle football, Plymouth Albion rugby and Plymouth Raiders basketball games to keep you happy.
